Coloma Old Girls Association (C.O.G.A.)
Anyone who has been a pupil at Coloma qualifies to be a member of COGA. The Association is essentially a network of past pupils who keep in touch via regular newsletters and enjoy social contact. The highlight of each year is the annual luncheon, held on the second Saturday in May, when COGA members and staff past and present meet at Coloma.
May 2016 COGA Re-Union
This year’s reunion luncheon took place on Saturday 14 May 2016 at the school. We welcomed 110 past pupils and we would like to thank everyone who came and made it such a wonderful occasion.
Everyone had a fantastic day. There were prizes galore in the raffle, plenty of Prosecco, lots of new friends made along with old friends reunited. There were gasps of amazement from past pupils who had not seen how much the school had grown and smiles of reassurance when they found those old familiar haunts remained unchanged. If you want to make sure you don't miss out on next year's reunion - put it in your diary now. It's always held on the second Saturday in May and, in 2017, that falls on 13 May. Hope to see you then!
Welcomed input from past pupils
COGA works with the school to maintain both their own and the schools' extensive archives, material from which is on regular display at COGA functions. We welcome any contribution to the archives from past pupils, including memories of their time at the school and especially photos, magazines and past articles!
The Association also maintains a great interest in the current development of the school and in the activities of present pupils. Many members have been very generous with the time they have given to Coloma careers days and the help they have extended to individual school leavers embarking on careers, higher education or professional training.
We have a small Committee which meets several times a year. Committee members run a stall at the Summer and Christmas Fairs making welcome donations to School Funds. COGA has made generous contributions to stained glass windows, purchased altar cloths for the Chapel, a roving microphone for the school hall and the sign for the Sixth Form Centre. The association also pledged £2,000 towards the capital costs of the all-weather floodlit sports facility, which was completed in October 2010. Last year COGA gave Coloma £2,000 to help with the costs of facilities required for the new Jubilee Centre.
Our Membership Secretary is Suzy Stoyel, who can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to become a member of COGA, please find a membership form in our Forms and Downloads section. We have a modest subscription which is used to cover our membership administration costs.
